I’m Itlian, I live in Italy and I love cooking. Even if a lot of people think that Italian food is the best in the world I’d like to deepen my knowledge about British recipes. Where can I find the best websites?
Thanks in advance

You’re right that the Italians have the best food in the world. But I suppose British food has a novelty value not least because some of it is so awful. However good British food is up there with the best in the world. There’s a chef called Rick Stein who has specialised in fish but did a series of food programmes about what he called ‘food heroes’, people who produce the best British food. You can read about it on www.rickstein.com/Food-Heroes.html

Another good website is the BBC one. It’s not all British food by any means, but you could browse. It’s at www.bbc.co.uk/food/ and you could use the search function to look at the following which are very typical regional dishes:

    Shepherd’s pie
    Cottage pie
    Steak and Kidney pudding
    Fish and chips
    Lancashire hotpot
    Yorkshire pudding
    Roast pork and crackling
Roast chicken and sage and onion stuffing
    Bangers and mash
    Toad in the hole
    Spotted dick
    Jam roly poly
    Fish pie
    Apple crumble
Macaroni cheese (yes, it’s British, what do you mean pasta is Italian?!)
    Welsh rarebit
Haggis (especially tonight, it’s Burns night and it’s traditional in Scotland) with neeps and tatties
    Liver and bacon
    Steamed syrup sponge
    Baked custard tart
    Manchester tart
    Yorkshire curd tart
