I have no food in the house to feed myself but a good amount of lamb cubes and goat just sitting in the freezer… I’ve put some meat out to defrost.. Does anybody know any basic recipes to cook meat?

I’m not looking to make any fancy french italian dishes just cooked and edible

seal meat in frying pan with a bit of oil and some onions. put meat and onions in slow cooker on high/big pot on medium heat, with as many veges as you can find and some water. cover and leave for a couple hours or until it looks delicious.
    consume.

Do you know whether the lamb was leg or some other portion?

Leg meat cooks nicely when you use quick, high heat — broiling or grilling. It’s nice to marinate it in lemon juice & garlic too.

If it’s one of the tougher cuts, then you should brown it in a pot with a little oil, then add some water or stock, cover it and cook over a low heat for a few hours. Add things like onions, wine, tomato paste, salt, pepper, maybe a little brown sugar and vinegar. That’ll make a lovely stew. Serve with rice or noodles.

Try curried goat stew. Here’s a link to a good recipe:http://www.jamaican-recipes.com/currygoat.html

    Look online for Indian recipes.

    Start with the Patak’s website:

a really flavorful stew would work well with previously frozen meat.

Yeh just chop up a large onion, a couple of garlic cloves, maybe a chili or 2. Saute in a little oil for a few minutes, throw in a couple of hand fulls of the meat, a tspn of paprika, some salt & pepper.

Then wash and dice up a couple of large potatoes and a few carrots, throw them in.

Pour in some red wine and some water to just cover, bring it to the boil. Turn down heat to low, and simmer for 35 to 40 minutes.

    Done!
