I want to make my family dinner so i need some help. I’m not much of a cook but i’m up to the challenge. Does anyone have any recipes they’d like to share? It has to be simple, i’m only thirteen. I’d like to make something Italian, but not Spaghetti or Lasagne. All suggestions and recipes are appreciated. Thanks!

This recipe isn’t really Italian but does contain tomatoes and oregano. It is very easy to make. I hope you can try it out.
Preheat oven to 350°F
1 lb. boneless beef round steak, 3/4” thick and trimmed
1/4 tsp. each salt and black pepper
Non-stick cooking spray
2 tbsp. all-purpose flour
1 can (14-1/2 oz.) tomatoes, undrained and cut up (you can use a can of diced tomatoes)
2 stalks celery, sliced 1/2” thick
1 large yellow onion, cut into wedges
3/4 cup whole kernel corn
1-1/2 tsp. dried oregano leaves
Sprinkle the steak on both sides with the salt and pepper
Cut the steak into 4 pieces. Pound both sides of the pieces until the pieces are 1/2” thick
Coat a 12” nonstick skillet with cooking spray. Heat the skillet over moderately high heat
Add steak and cook for 3 minutes on each side or until browned. Transfer to a 13 x 9 x 2” baking dish with a lid
Stir the flour into the drippings in skillet. Add the tomatoes, celery, corn, onions and oregano
Heat to a boil and cook for 1 minute stirring constantly; pour over the meat
Cover and bake for 1-1/4 hours or until meat is tender. You can cook the meat longer if you lower the temperature to about 300 – 325 degrees. Serve with mashed potatoes or hot, cooked noodles.
I vary this recipe slightly for my family. I double up on everything except the steak and serve it with rice. I put some of the "sauce" onto the rice as well when I serve it. This also allows me to have leftovers for the next day’s lunch.
You can use any type of steak for this. Make sure the fat is trimmed before you use it. The tougher the cut of meat, the longer you should cook it.
Hope you try this and enjoy it.
