I cooked last night on the top of my electric stove and shut the bruner off. After the stoe top cooled down the stovetop is hot light went off but the stovetop is on light won’t go off. I unplugged it and plugged back in and it still won’t go off.

It’s probably a bad switch, or in the case of a glass top, a sensor.
