ACK — no! Totally different types of oil. Olive oil is food grade. Baby oil is petroleum based and NOT for human consumption!

yeah i would have to agree with Blossom…
if you cook at a resturant they should have cooking oil… so i think maybe you do this for the heck of it ?

Baby oil is not a substitute for intelligence. Just because it has the word "oil" in it doesn’t mean it’s interchangeable with other kinds of oil. You wouldn’t use MOTOR oil in a salad, would you? Would you? Are you listening to me? Look at me when I’m talking. You’re not paying attention. Look at me! Look at–that’s better. Now what were we talking about. No, YOU answer that. What were we just talking about? You can’t answer, can you? Because you’re not paying attention! Don’t make me come over there! Pay attention this instant! Oh–that’s it…I’m just sick of it. You and your attitude. Think you’re so cool around your friends. Well, your friends aren’t your family, I’ll say that. What did your friends ever tell you anyway. Don’t give me that face. Or backtalk. I don’t need your backtalk, either. I DO want some guff, however.

    So there.

DO NOT USE BABY OIL to cook your food. People are getting sick. That should be an obvious sign not to use it!!! People have a hard time trusting some restaurants because of the habits of the cook. Why would you go and do something like that!?

Unless you have a valid reason as to why you were putting it in the food, otherwise you should do some reasearch in your field before just trying things out because they sound the same.

Is it your own restaurant and you’re trying to save money? I realize baby oil is cheaper than most cooking oils, but that doesn’t mean it can be used in food. As was already said, it’s petroleum based, it’s not for consumption! And I don’t think you belong in the field of cooking if you’re making a simple mistake like that. Sorry.
