From a musical perspective, I believe he made an outstanding arrangement. He sounds like a professional which is very impressive for someone who was an "amateur" singer just a year ago.
I’m a lyrics guru so I can definitely appreciate his words in "Light On". I am even more impressed that he co-wrote it. Most times new artists have everything laid out for them and they just put a pretty face and voice to it. But, it is very impressive and commendable for him to write his own songs.
Overall, i loved "Light On". I thought both the music and lyrics were original and nice. I can definitely hear it getting played over and over on the radio.
Hats off to David Cook. He’s got a hit.

I LOVE the song. The chorus sticks in your head, his voice sounds amazing & it’s HIM – not him covering another artist’s song.
And he’s smokin’ hot too !! LOL
