I really want to start being a mothers helper because I love kids and I would do it for free! I can also do cooking and light housework.

To the Posters Who say NO: A mothers Helper is in the house while the MOTHER is in the house, they watch the baby while you shower, fold clothes, do the dishes, fix diner, take a nap,
its not like your leaving them alone in the house while you go off to work 8+ hours or go shopping for a few hours, you IN the home
To the OP: Yes i would hire you, i just wouldnt expect to pay you much, but if you came to me willing to work for free thro i would not like it, i would you to treat my child as a child and not a free Doll for play time… get my drift, but 3-5$ a hour would be reasonable

I don’t see why not as long as you’re doing 11 year old things. NO breastfeeding! lol

No,
Your too young, and don’t have the right training. Like I said our babysitter is in her 20′s and I don’t even like her watching them. Maybe when your older. But there too young and fragile.

I’m not a mom, but, If you were going to be just a mothers helper while she is around the house, I probably would. Good luck!
BTW make sure you don’t take on TOO much responsibility

Depends on the 11 year old. My nine year old is VERY mature about the babies (totally immature about other things!) and is quite the little mother-hen in my house. She watches my preschooler for me while I make dinner, do laundry, etc. She carries my infant like a pro, supports her properly and is so careful. She changes diapers and feeds her. She is amazing. But then again I have pictures of her holding my middle child as an infant too. She was 5 when my middle was born and she used to "watch" her for me then when I had to step out of the room and pee or whatever. It is all in the child, not in the age…….

maybe if i knew them well and was right there all the time; but that would kind of defeat the purpose huh? i think you are too young right now, wait a couple more years..

I don’t know, because I don’t know you. I would have hired me at your age, and I actually did have a couple jobs helping with kids when I was 10/11… but everyone always said I was mature for my age. It all depends on the person. The only reason age might be important is for things like strength – some kids are heavy.
