On my last visit to the doctor, he confirmed my worst fears that I’m obese and advised me to exercise more and eat healthier. But my mom won’t allow it. Every night when she gets home from work she brings fast food with her, whether it be pizza, McDonald’s, KFC etc. She is considered obese herself but isn’t bothered about losing weight. I keep telling her I need to lose weight but all she says is "I look fine" or "you’re big boned, what do doctors know". I’ve tried cooking healthy meals for when she gets home from work but she gets angry at me for making a mess in the kitchen and throws it away. How can I lose weight when my mom won’t let me?

    I would consider that child abuse. Call Child Protective Services or the Department of Children and Families in your area.

    no one can make you eat anything. Just simply don’t put it in your mouth and refuse to eat her food. Eat something healthy instead of the food she makes and tell her straight up that her bringing you all these fast food is going to cause you major heart problems and health problems later in life and your going to blame her and she needs to think about what she is doing. That is ridiculous.

    refuse to eat fast food. Run around the block everyday. Move out so she has no control over you.. drink only water

    tell her that you want to buy a rice cooker and food steamer and it wont make a mess if you do this way.. as all you do is slice up some vegetables and maybe some raw chicken or fish..and sprinkle some pepper and onions on ..and turn the steamer on for 20 minutes or 30 minutes..same with the rice cooker..and they both will help you lose weight..

    buy asian rice too at a asian grocer or some super markets have this.ask for jasmine or basmati

    Eat the food you make and clean up your mess afterward. Get a part time job so that you can buy your own groceries.

    Also, even when your mom brings home fast food, you can eat the good parts and ignore the really bad stuff. Just because there is a Super Size fry box sitting in front of you, does not mean that you have to put them in your mouth.

    i think she is jealous because you want to go on a diet while she cant resist food.
    Ignore her, eat healthy, exercise and try to avoid junk!

    Your mom is either one of those ignorant parents or one of those caring parents who think their child looks fine no matter what (though it can be a problem). Talk to her about it, does your family have issues of obesity and diabetes and heart problems? You don’t want to be next in line. Talk to her about it, tell her that even though she cares for you, eating foods like this is unhealthy and it is completely selfish of her to put your health in danger because of her ignorant beliefs. Also try to cook in secret or clean up the mess so she doesn’t know. Right now she is doing bad things (probably not knowing it). Get some friends and go eat at their places and be active in gym class and drink plenty of water.
