I need to lose around 50 lbs. I want to do it for myself and for my health. I also know that I have so much potential and that I could look and feel so much better..How I really feel on the inside is how I want to look on the outside but I can never seem to make it happen…A diet doesnt even last a half a day with me…I work full time and am a single mom…I have so much going on I dont have time to cook healthy meals etc so Im almost forced to do the quick out to eat thing……..any suggestions?

throw out all junk food. put fruits and veggies everywhere. buy one pair of jeans that are the size u want to get to that way u have a reward waiting on u. make sure to hang the jeans up where u can see them constantly to help remind u. get a old picture of u where u were thinner and sit it by ur desk. when u go shopping, walk laps around the isles. take a dif rout to work so u dont pass the doughnut shop. good luck! you can do it!

Not to be rude but i believe the best way to be motivated is to find a guy you like and have him tell you that you are fat. That might motivate you a little bit

    -Get organized
-Find a Cardio workout you enjoy
    -Keep track of your progress
-Find out what foods you need to eat (www.mypramid.gov)
    -Stop eating out
-Try and make time to go to the grocery store, buy healthy foods and make meals, it doesn’t take as long as you think. If you’re serious about losing weight, you have to make time.

try exercising a little bit every day and wen u get a day off go somewhere like a walking trail, it pays off big time! you get to see really awsome views and get fit at the same time!, If you have time for snacks then eat some carrot and celery sticks with dip! DONT listen to nataliya or whatever, not eating after a certain time is even worse to your body!

What you should do is look in the mirror carefully and see about how much weight you want to loose and where. Then, you need a motivation like for example you want to look pretty for a special occasion ! Next, run around the block for as long as you can but, to help where head phones, where sweats, and drink a lot of water. Also, drink plenty of non fat skim milk ( I drink a lot of milk so my bones are strong and I can do a lot of exercises so I loose weight also I won a lot of the presidential fitness awards.) Also, when you see candy THINK get pen and paper and write at least 10 things why you shouldn’t eat it. Also, for the first week eat as you normally would and write down everything you ate that week then on Sunday check it and see how you can improve your diet. I probably sound annoying but,I’m serious. Oh, Yea! If you want to exercise with out being hot and you can still have a lot of fun with friends I would prefer swimming like doing laps in the pool. I Have a lot more diet advice so you can ask me anything hurleygurl1994@yahoo.com is my email address. GOOD LUCK!!!

    Seriously…

All you really need to do is get past the initial workout. After this you’ll instantly start feeling a change,e ven tho it maybe a mental one. Then you’ll look forward to continue’ing and following thru.

Seriuosly… a good diet, combined with a decent weight loss med & the new inspiration to work out.. you’ll shave it off in no time. Good Luck.

the key to losing weight is not dieting. its changing your lifestyle! its ok to go to McDonalds and stuff, just follow some basic guidelines when you eat. like NEVER drink soda or perferably anything with sugar in it and when you order a meal, get a small one or like a salad. McDonalds salads are really good and stuff like light dressing and not eating french fries with your meal can make all the diference. with trying to eat better, you have to change little easy things but they will add up quickly. dont be disapointed if you dont loose weight quickly, the most a person can really loose is 3-4 pounds a week and still be healthy, but 3 pounds a week is really a lot in the long run! when you try eat better, make it easier for yourself by not buying junk food or soda so you are not tempted! good luck

What helps me is thinking about all the things that make me feel bad and have adverse health effects. (ex. I really like hiking, but when I’m out of shape, going 5 yards gets me breathless.) If you don’t have time to cook the frozen healthy foods in the store are often on sale and aren’t as bad for you as other stuff. Another thing is that if you get a chance to make little snack baggies of fruits and veggies that are ready to go; just take a few with you and chomp on those throughout the day.

My sister hung a picture of herself at her heaviest on her refrigirator and that helped her. (it didn’t work for me but you know, different strokes for different folks.)

First of all, never feel bad about your weight. if you think you are over/under weight, the problem starts there itself.. just think you are normal.. its all in your mentality.. the key to lose your weight lies in your brain itself. I want to gain it.. you want to lose it!! apart from motivation to work hard etc.. you need to love yourself, remove the stress you have entrapped yourself in.. you will feel better than before.. to motivate yourself the other thing u can do is, meditate.. just sit in a closed well ventilated unlit room.. close your eyes and remember the most lovely thing you came across.. it may be a puppy.. or a silent beach.. or sitting hand in hand with the one you love.. it may be the touch of an infant baby.. or anything of that sorts.. just relax and say to yourself.. "i am what God wanted me to be"

on a day you have time cook a bunch of chicken breasts and freeze them. you can put them into quick salads, sandwiches, etc. all week long. as far as staying motivated, just start working out. it took me about a month before i was used to working out, but now i feel a lot more energetic and look forward to working out whenever possible

    Small Steps
Make a statement and stick to it. "I’m going to lose 5 lbs this week!" Now prepare yourself to do it.
    1. write a menu for your whole family for the week.
    2. Think of your lunchs since this is probably when you go out the most…prepare your lunches the night before. If its going to be salads have the greens tossed with bacon, cheese and whatever and place in a glad container the night before with whatever is going with it.
    3. A supstanial amount of weight is gained through beverages. Soda, Juices, energy drinks, so on and so on. Bring Water. If you have a desk job buy a mini water bottle that holds 1/2 gallon of water. place it near your desk. The water must be gone before you leave work.
    4. These are all goals. Losing 50 lbs is a lot. losing 5 lbs a week is achievable.
As you get more motivated take on more. "I’m going to wake up 20 minutes early every morning and walk the dog, ride my bike, clean the house, whatever.
Make it achievable and you can do it.
    Good Luck

    Some things to try:

    1. Take the stairs instead of an elevator.
    2. Park farther from your work entrance or store entrance.
    3. Take a walk on your breaks.
    4. Use smaller plates for your meals – NO seconds! Once you serve up your plate, put the leftovers in the fridge!
    5. On the Food Network, there is a show "Robin Miller’s Quick Fix Meals". She cooks up stuff on the weekend and uses leftovers in different dishes for the rest of the week. You might try it sometime.

    Hope this helps.

Oh man do you bring back memories! lol I totally get where your comming from. It is way awsome that you recognize the issue BEFORE it gets out of hand. I am not single single…. I am married but my hubby and I wok back to back shifts all the time so I kinda feel alone in that aspect. You are sooo right about the whole diet thing… neve worked for me. HOWEVER what did work was knowing that if I continued on the path I was heading not only would it lead to health issues for me but it is also teachig my kids so pretty crappy things as well. I come from a bad gene pool seriously… anything bad that is out there I will probably get… heart probalems, diabetes… you name it I will get it. So I have this thing about procrastiation… no really… I am way good at it. My hubby says I will probably put off my own death when it comes.. so I took his advise…Get healthy to stay healthy… and you know there IS always tomorow to die lol So I put myself on a plan… NOT a diet but a plan or a schedule and I just said Self there is no tomorrow on this one you MUST get it done or else your kids are not going to get it done either. Oh I have a 4 yr old and a almost 2 yr old. So… this is what I did…. Each Sunday I make my weekly plan. It includes this… Mon., Wed., ad Fri. I do some sort of excersize. I power walk, speed clean my house, a combo of sit ups, push ups, jumping jacks and joggin in place (cool thing about this one is if I run out of time I can do this when the kids are in bed) 5 minutes each on those, and you plan it so no excuses! Plus you get some more excerisize by chasing kids! I also make a meal plan. Now this is wear I get stuck sometimes but I push myself to just do it. For the morning while I drink my coffee and think about the day, I eat 1 breakfast bar with some fruit and a bagel with cream cheese *low fat, lunches are a fruit and veggie and cheese combo combo that I have pre prepped and I can throw some in a tupperware dish. I drink lots ofwater all day so that is what I drink with my lunch. Then dinners… I know time is flying by what with chores and errands and such BUT if you plan ahead and premake things this is soooo easy. And always look for low cal recipes. You can google this. I have TONS of sites. Just go to your ca Walmart and get the plastic containers that you can freeze with… spend the weekends cooking with the kids… put servings into these, lable what they are and DATE them… lol and viola… you have dinners that are healthy to eat and simple all ya gotta do is pull them out the same morning and put them in the fridge, when its dinner time… pop them n the micrwave… Oh yea… side dishes…veggies make a great salad… fruits can be a salad… whole grain breads… and to drink… well MILK… 3 servings a day can help you get enough nutrients to burn extra cals that you dont need. and the water you drink all day helps flush your sytem. Remeber planning ahead will help you stay away from McDonalds. Never go shopping while hungry and don’t forget to excerize. Also remember no if and’s or But’s about it…you want to teach your kids healthy so you have to show them healthy. Good luck and have fun!

Either you do this or you don’t. You can make all the excuses in the world not to take care of your health but in the end you’re the only one that can commit to adopting a healthy life style. Just remember..your kids are learning their life long habits from you as well. All the talking in the world won’t get you sweating and making healthier eating choices. This is an investment in yourself and your family..but no-one can make the changes for you…good luck

Visualize yourself being thinner and healthy. Cut out pictures of someone you admire and paste it in a visible place. This is going to motivate you to lose weight. Every time you go somewhere, carry a small picture of this ideal person and it will keep you off the vending machines and unhealthy snacks. Start exercising, wake up 15 min early and stretch, never skip breakfast (always eat protein in the morning) avoid sugary stuff at all cost. Tell your closes friends to support you. Remain focus on your goal even if you do not see results right away. Patience pays off, keep positive and good luck.

i have alot of diabetes in my family and i had gained 30 pounds. find a friend to exercise with and walk or what i did was i got a friend to join curves with me. But!!! don’t be a little jealous if your friend loses more weight than you even though you do the same thing. that happened to me but then i realized i should be happy for her too, after all i had lost 10 pounds too. cut out sodas and fast food& breads. eat 6 small meals or try to eat lean protein, veggies and fruit & try eating on small plate so it will seem like more! Good Luck!!

    12 Tips for Atkins Diet

    1. If what you are eating has less than 1 carb, count it as 1 carb just to be sure.

    2. Totally avoid caffine at least for the first two weeks on the program.

    3. Drink a MINIMUM of 8 glasses of plain water or seltzer daily.

    4. Don’t weigh yourself more than once a week

    5. Take starting measurements as well as weight – sometimes you’ll lose inches before pounds

    6. Avoid any type of "low carb" sweetener for the first two weeks

    7. Don’t compare your loss to someone else’s – this is a YMMV thing (your milage may vary)

    8. Stalls are common around the third week so don’t panic

    9. If you follow your plan to the T and don’t lose, consider Candida as a possibility and avoid vinegar, cheese, mushrooms and any other fermented food

    10. Have bloodwork done before starting so you have a comparison

    11. Cholesterol can be elevated in the first few weeks til your body adjusts – make sure your doctor knows that you’re doing low carb and when you started

    12. Don’t blame the diet if you don’t read your plan book — blame the diet if you don’t read the labels — Don’t blame the diet if you don’t follow the diet
