So I’m trying to cook more healthy. It’s difficult for me, because I’m used to cooking large quantities of food of what ever will feed 5-6 people. So getting used to cooking for just 2 whilst keeping health in mind is a little difficult. Haha. Anyway, so how healthy would you say this recipe is? What should I do differently?
- about 1/3 of a 15oz. box of whole wheat spaghetti. ((which turned out to be too much, because we threw some of it away.))
- 1 cup of tomato Basil spaghetti sauce.
- 5 small slices of pre-cooked chicken
- 6-7 mushrooms
- 1 clove of garlic
- 1 drop of olive oil
- 3/4 cup of frozen spinach
- half of a tomato.
- 1 slice of mozzarella cheese.
Haha, yeah I was worried about the cheese. It’s why I only used 1 slice. XD What are some less fattening options I could use?

yes, overall it is quite healthy…but you have mozzarella cheese which is quite fattening lol:P You may want to substitute the cheese with like a low – fat cheese for a healthier alternative. You may also want to use fresh spinach instead of frozen ones as the fresh spinach has more nutrients and other vitamins.

Sounds really healthy to me, I don’t know how you could get much healthier actually. I have to say though that I think whole wheat pasta is totally nasty. Good for you though if you like it because it is so much better for you!

That’s pretty healthy, but you skimped on the olive oil, and it is a heart-healthy fat that you need. You could have put a teaspoon, or even a tablespoon of it on your cooked spaghetti…
You could have added more protein, too…5-6 slices of pre-cooked chicken shared between two is likely not enough…you’d need about 3-4 ounces each…
Still, you are doing great–keep up the good work!
