i been with him over 3 years & we’re very happy, but his weight has always been an issue with me. hes not severely overweight or anything, just carrying an extra 15-20 pounds or so.

I’ve tried to invite him to come to the gym with me, but he comes once or twice then has "other things to do". he doesn’t exactly eat healthy either, hes a big fan of fast food.even though we are both n college, yes, i still have time to prepare my food. I’ve offered to cook healthy food to put in his fridge so he can microwave it, but he orders the takeout anyway. note that I’ve done all this WITHOUT actually telling him "you need to lose weight!".what can i do???

Don’t make it an issue of weight. Tell him you’re concerned about his health with all the bad things he puts into his body especially since he doesn’t exercise either. Tell him you want to help him form good lifelong habits now so it becomes second nature to him when it really counts at a later age. If he goes to the gym and eats healthier, he can’t help but lose the weight.

you seem to have started well and you should just keep insisting. Tell him that fast food is bad for your health and stuff like that. Run with him a little in the mornings?

    sorry to hear that.
but the only way he will lose weight is if he actually wants to do it.

idk, i wouldnt ever want to tell my loved one that and possibly hurt them… sorry again!

I think what u should do is stop worrying about his weight….I mean I’ve been with my boyfriend for 3 yrs and a half and he is gaining a lot of weight,,,I really love him a lot, and I don’t tell him nothing about his way because all i worry about is his feelings…don’t be like that girl!!

My girlfriend told me in about the most out there way, "you’re the heaviest girl I’ve ever been with." I was like excuse me? Eff off. But after crying because she hurt my feelings, and her telling me that she really does just want to help me, we’ve started going to the gym together and eating better together. Maybe have fun with it, and make a bet to see who can loose 20 lbs the fastest and keep it off. Knowing that you don’t need to loose it, you’ll just have to let him win :]

I am not really sure, but what you are decribing doesn’t sound healthy. There isn’t really an easy way you can tell him to lose weight, my best bet would be to tell hm how unhealthy it is and how it can lead to being morbidly obese.
