OMG, I am eating this satay chicken noodles frozen meal and it’s revolting! Ok, I am starving and hate to waste so I will eat it, but never again.
I am pregnant and breastfeeding and need to eat copious amounts and sometimes just don’t have the energy to cook healthy balanced meals. So, I bought a couple of frozen meals thinking at least they had meat, veges and carbs, but I’m not sure you can even call whatever the hell is in these things such lofty titles! This chicken is like plastic! It’s obviously not meat… And the sauce – OMG talk about glug! There were enough numbers in the ingredients list to add up to a gazillion!
Why on earth would people eat this crap?? It’s called lean cuisine and it’s supposed to be healthy but I’m sure it’s not as it’s barely even edible and can barely even be classed as food!

This is going to sound gross but as a child a LOVED those things. Because I was raised on them, breakfast lunch and dinner came from a can or frozen meal. Disgusting, I know. But my mom didn’t know how to cook to save her life so those were BETTER than her cooking. She could screw up simple mac n cheese. She was a disaster in the kitchen.
But now I find them revolting as well and don’t even know how I ever actually enjoyed them and how I ever turned out as healthy as I am. Banquet and hungry man were what my mother stocked the freezer with… And those are the foulest ones out there!!! I would rather eat prairie oysters.
But, there are a select few of frozen dinners that actually are good. From Trader Joes. I actually do enjoy their frozen pizzas and pastas and burritos and a few other things, it’s real food that has just been frozen. Not processed and sodium packed and preservative filled junk. I love their pesto pizza!
I try to cook as often as possible but sometimes I get tired and lazy or pressed for time and it’s nice to have something actually edible come out of the frozen section.

I know! They are SO disappointing, and so TINY!!
You may as wellspend the same amount, one day, buy a chicken, noodles, veg, and cook everything, it’ll take one hour and you have food for the week, plue cooking when you have that one two hour stretch, is relaxing.
Those package meals always tease you and you really get duped, the picture os so tempting, and the amount of food you get is insulting, also it is SO bland and tasteless and why all the preservative for something that is supposed to be fresh healthy food?
I’s such a waste of time and money. You have to go to the shop anyway to buy it- so get a weeks worth of meat, rice and veg, cook it up and freeze it.
The meat and veg are watery and crap!
And noodles can’t be cooked them frozen it goes against the nature of the food!
I agree with everything you’re saying it caNNOT be classified as food- it is old, preserved with fake chemicals and flavour enhancers and so much salt!
I don’t understand why anyone actualy buys them- it takes the same time to MW or cook a fresh baked potato- and the same amount of hassle/non hassle.
If you really want a good meal with NO chopping and tidying- buy canned beans and frozen veg ( some frizne veg is OK- peas and corn, the rest are awful) and heat up. That’s it. ANd if you have to eat fish or meat with yur meal, the same thing- buy frozen and plain, it won’t be same as fresh, but the plain wholefood in frozen form is just as easy as those cardboard meals, and almost like fresh.
CUt open four packets, pout in a pot with stock, bake for 30 minutes- much nicer.
I think people get enticed by the sauces- chicken with parmesan and garlic butter, or beef with peanut and mango sate sauce, etc.
Stuff like that if it was just chicken or beef, they would be so appealing, but for that, just buy a good quality jar of sauce- that makes the difference between plain fish and snazzy fish.
Hope you find good better copious food soon.

Eat the packaging – tastier and probably more nutritious.
We all like to think that one day maybe the processed food companies will think of taste above the bottom line but until then cook plenty at each meal time and freeze the leftovers – your next frozen meal will at least be edible!
