If you begin eating 2,500 calories per day then your metabolism will adjust itself so that your body begins burning 2,500 calories per day.

If you try to starve yourself by suddenly eating 1,000 calories per day then your metabolism will again ADJUST ITSELF so that your body begins to burn only 1,000 calories per day. That’s why you have failed in your past dieting attempts, that’s why you always seem to fail when you try and starve yourself.

As long as you exercise i dont believe you will put on weight. Sometimes ihave days where i’ve eaten nearly 3,000 calories or more, but i still lose weight since i keep exercising. Michael phelps, the olympic swimmer eats 12,000 per day and doenst gain an ounce!

Exercising can help your metabolism to help burn off excess food that you eat… but unfortunately, this overeating probably will catch up with you one way or another. For instance, you can look and be "in-shape" on the outside, but one of the most important reasons for exercising isn’t only for your outside appearance but for your insides (such as your heart and arteries). Some people think that because they can exercise regulary and be skinny that they are healthy… but the foods we eat and how much plays a major role in our heart health. You can still be muscular and fit on the outside and have high cholesterol and triglycerides which can lead to heart attacks and strokes.

Keep up the exercise and maintain a healthy eating diet to ensure necessary heart health that’s essential for being "healthy"
Also, it’s not a bad idea to have a lipid panel test done to check your cholesterol and triglycerides. These are important numbers that you need to be aware of to get a better picture of your overall health.
