i love chips but i know thats not on the menu i bought some low carb tortias and i was thinking about pan frying them with veg. oil or cooking them in the oven with butter would the atkin count stay the same or go up?? please advise

On the forum I frequent, someone has a recipe for "cheese chips" , I think they just fry peices of cheese until crispy. Others do this with pepperoni. I like to use pork rinds instead of corn chips, I dip them in salsa (yum!). My next project is to try to make nachos with them.

If you fry chips you’ll be adding fat but not getting rid of the starches. In Atkins, you can’t fool your body even though you add fats. Chips will be detected as starches.

I bought LOWERY’s Bacon Curls. you put them in the microwave like popcorn. they are a little salty BUT warma nd crunchy. If you cant find them in your local store you can find them online http://www.netrition.com/lowreys_bacon_curls.html
if you are low carbing DONT stop eating the foods you love CHANGE them. GOOD luck!!!!!
