in the past i heard that if the cookie sheet is light you cook the cookies accordingly to the recipe. but the dark cookies sheets need less time? does anyone know? i really need to get new cookie sheets.

Dark sheets absorb more heat, so the bottoms of your cookies can brown too quickly.
Try:
-lowering the heat by 25 degrees (F)
-removing the cookies sooner
In any case, you really can’t just depend on the time in the recipe. Cookies bake so quickly, they can go from perfectly done to burnt in less than a minute. Use the recipe as a guide, but always watch the cookies for the last few minutes of the recommended time.
