my boyfriend is really picky in what he eats. He wont eat any spicy food or garlic, onion or paprika or any hot spices.
does anyone have any healthy recipes that don’t include any of these ingredients.
He likes chicken, pasta, cheese, but i wanted to make something he doesnt usually eat.
Thanks

I will suggest you an Indian recipe .Am sure he will like it.It is not so spicy but really tasty and healthy too.

    BUTTER CHICKEN
Butter chicken is an Indian dish from the Punjab region popular in countries all over the world that have a tradition of Indian restaurants.
    Preparation Time : 4 hours
    Cooking Time : 30-40 minutes
    Servings : 4
    INGREDIENTS
    Chicken 800 grams

    Lemon juice 1 tablespoon

Kashmiri red chilli powder 1 teaspoon

    Salt to taste

    Butter 2 tablespoons

    For marinade

    Yogurt 1 cup

    Salt to taste

    Garlic paste 1/2 teaspoon

    Garam masala powder 1/2 teaspoon

Kashmiri red chilli powder 1 teaspoon

    Ginger paste 2 tablespoons

    Lemon juice 2 tablespoons

    Mustard oil 2 tablespoons

    FOR MAKHNI GRAVY

    Butter 50 grams

    Ginger paste 1 tablespoon

    Green chillies, chopped 4-5

    Red chilli powder 1 tablespoon

    Salt to taste

Dry fenugreek leaves (kasuri methi) 1/2 teaspoon

    Whole garam masala 1 tablespoon

    Garlic paste 1 tablespoon

    Tomato puree 400 grams

    Garam masala powder 1/2 teaspoon

    Honey 2 tablespoons

    Cream 1 cup

    METHOD
Make incisions with a sharp knife on breast and leg pieces of the chicken. Apply a mixture of red chilli powder, lemon juice and salt to the chicken and set aside for half an hour. Hang yogurt in a muslin cloth for fifteen to twenty minutes to remove extra water. Add red chilli powder, salt, ginger-garlic paste, lemon juice, garam masala powder and mustard oil. Apply this marinade to the chicken pieces and refrigerate for three to four hours. Put the chicken onto a skewer and cook in a moderately hot tandoor or a preheated oven (200°C) for ten to twelve minutes or until almost done. Baste it with butter and cook for another two minutes. Remove and set aside. Heat butter in a pan. Add green cardamoms, cloves, peppercorns and cinnamon. Sauté for two minutes, add ginger-garlic paste and chopped green chillies. Cook for two minutes. Add tomato puree, red chilli powder, garam masala powder, salt and one cup of water. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for ten minutes. Add sugar or honey and powdered kasoori methi. Add cooked tandoori chicken pieces. Simmer for five minutes and then add fresh cream.

You can leave the garlic and red chili powder …. that will not affect the taste ….

Get creative! Try different things with chicken, pasta, cheese, possibly rice and herbs. Rosemary, basil, oregano, thyme, salt and pepper.

leave out the high spice additives in any recipe. Unless the recipe absolutely depends on that item, it is just a flavoring. Onion Flowers being one item you would not want to cook.

I would also leave out any salt or sugar in any of those recipes. the more bland and blah a dish the less picky he will be.

Sounds to me he is a super taster. Google it as it is a condition rather than a snobbishness or the like. Not really a condition, but it has been scientifically proven that some people have a certain set of taste buds or tentacles on their tongue . The foods you ‘ve listed are rather similar. Garlic is an onion and also spicy. Paprika is a capsicum. Anyway, I know that was not your question, but just in case you think he is just picky, he might not be.

So, he might like avocado soup. Made with yogurt.

Asparagus and parmesan and a poached egg with hollandaise.

Grilled chicken and make sure it has a grid grill pattern on charcoal kind of a thing, and serve with a creamy sage Parmesan tagliatelle with lemon and black pepper and some zucchini – Google The Independent sage tagliatelle . Not too much lemon.

Puff pastry parcels in the oven filled with onion, favourite cheese, tomatoes, zucchini, parsley, basil, smoked ham or bacon, served with a crispy salad and good dressing. Pastry not too healthy, but healthy for the soul as it’s so good. And gorgeous with the crispy salad.

Luke warm farfalle pasta mixed in a crispy salad with mixed lettuce, raw chopped sugar snaps, baby corn steamed, basil, cucumber, feta cheese, peas, wheatgerm, walnuts, shallots, shredded grilled chicken, lovely vinaigrette.

    Enjoy!
