I was out of powdered sugar so i found this recipe
3 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1 1/8 c. light cream
1/4 c. butter
Vanilla to taste
Combine the brown sugar and cream in a saucepan and cook over low heat to soft ball stage. Remove from heat. Add butte and cool. Add vanilla and beat until frosting is of spreading consistency. Frost cooled cake.
just to realize im also out of cream. Is there a substatute or a frosting recipie that dosn’t contain either?

you can use 3/4 cup milk and 1/4 cup butter in place of the cream, or you can use condensed (not sweetened) milk also.

You can use milk. I have a frosting recipe that is similar to yours- it calls for milk and I use milk.
