My Nanna used to make them and they were delicious! She called them ‘white sausages’ but I know that isn’t their official name. She made this light dough and rolled it into little sausages and then cooked them in this big pot with this kind of sauce that had bread crumbs in it.

Please tell me this sounds familiar to someone! I’ve been googling and googling but can’t find it.

I think I know! :) My grandmother still makes those but she puts either a piece of fruit (peach) or a small plum into the dough before cooking them. They are called "knedle" and the breadcrumbs are called "prezle".

You can make them plain, like your nanna did, or with some fruit. Also you can serve them covered with some cinnamon and/or sweet cream.
    Dobar tek!
